Amazon Escalation Risk Manager, Selling Enforcement for Regulatory and Safety Compliance, SERSC (Seller Enforcement for Regulatory and Safety Compliance) in San Jose, Costa Rica

The Selling Enforcement for Regulatory and Safety Compliance (SERSC) team within RISC is looking for an Associate Escalations Risk Manager to protect our customers from unsafe, offensive, and non-compliant products, and investigate potential bad actors attempting to misuse the Amazon platform. The Risk Manager will implement and take ownership of the internal escalation framework to ensure that only safe and compliant products are available to customers. This leader will drive collaboration with internal Legal, Business, Risk, and compliance teams to ensure that all disputes, escalations, and internal inquiries are investigated and resolved within a rapid, thorough window. They will take the lead in acting on contacts and deep diving risk signals, seller behavior, and historic data to investigate and confirm potential non-compliant sellers and bad actors for engagement and enforcement.

The right candidate should have moderate experience in project and program management (2+ years), the ability to communicate clearly to key stakeholders, driving detailed investigations, and must have a bias for action. They will take ownership of a communication and request channel within the SERSC team with a high degree of impact on Amazon customers and sellers, and high visibility within internal teams. Background in risk management, escalations, and compliance is crucial.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Develop and enact systemic escalation pathways within RISC for seller investigations and disputes;

  2. Identify and drive opportunities to automate or refine investigation processes;

  3. Build reporting mechanisms for case management;

  4. Investigate and resolve escalated requests within set SLAs while meeting quality parameters;

  5. Communicate with core internal and external stakeholders on the status of investigations;

  6. Surface risks, defects, or corrective measures with leaders to drive continuous improvement of the seller account enforcement framework;

Basic Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree

  2. 2+ years experience in program or risk management

  3. Escalation management and investigatory background

  4. History of senior stakeholder engagement
