Job Description:

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS), F-35 Sustainment HPSI Operating Unit, has an opening for a Principal Engineer Planning Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. You will be assigned as a Principal Engineer Planning Analyst supporting F-35 organizational maintenance at MCAS Miramar.

Responsibilities:

Oversees maintenance servicing, repairing and overhauling aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure that aircraft are in good mechanical condition and safe for flight. Ensures FAA maintenance requirements are met. Schedules maintenance and inspections. Obtains estimates from outside repair facilities for equipment that cannot be repaired or maintained in-house. Releases aircraft Safe for flight. Recommends procedure changes to improve maintainability of aircraft and timely inspections. Consults manufacturers manuals for specifications and determines feasibility of repair or replacement. Collaborates with Quality team and customer maintenance leadership on best aircraft maintenance practices and processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and 10 years of aircraft maintenance experience. Will consider a bachelor's degree and 6 years of aircraft maintenance experience; or a master's degree and 4 years of experience.

  • Must have an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.

  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass government required F-35 trainings (Advanced Technical Training and/or Cadre Course) for continued employment.

  • Must be willing to provide temporary detachment support to the customer should the need arise.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aircraft Release Safe for Flight certification

  • Fighter aircraft MRO&U experience.

  • Maintenance Control experience.

  • DoD aircraft MRO&U experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a team lead or supervisor

  • Proficient implementing Time Compliance Technical Directives (TCTD).

  • Experience and working knowledge with F-35 sustainment tools; Product Data Manager (PDM), JSF Data Library (JDL), Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS).

  • Proficient with Microsoft Business Suite.

Salary Range: $97,500 - $146,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
