General Summary:

The Multimedia Camera System group creates embedded camera and imaging solutions for chipsets that power todays most advanced mobile devices. With dedicated hardware, multi-core processors and GPU, our imaging solutions achieve state-of-the-art video/photo quality, and also target applications requiring image understanding, object detection/recognition and augmented reality. We seek Systems Engineers with demonstrable knowledge and hands-on experience with system modeling for design verification & validation, pre-Si emulation support for FW & SW.

Responsibilities will include:

• Imaging algorithm modeling in C/C++ (Using C/C++ on Windows VS2017 IDE) & debugging under both Windows & Linux

• Optimizing imaging algorithm models on CPU using C/C++ technics

• Writing Python scripts for testing imaging use cases. Scripting for process automation

• ML algorithm development for Image Processing

• Familiarity with using CUDA GPU library

• Analyzing image quality issues using C/C++ models and perform minimal tuning

• Performing version control (Perforce) & code-tip maintenance using test automation (ABT)

• Working within a fast-paced & collaborative environment with geographically & functionally distributed teams

• Managing large codebase integration & testbench automation will be a definite advantage

Ideal candidate will have below qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

• 5+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

• 5+ years of experience in programming (e.g., C, C++, Python, PERL, Make) for process automation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with digital image processing, imaging algorithms

• Familiarity with digital imaging algorithm tuning and IQ assessment

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.

• 2+ years of experience in camera hardware or systems design and optimization.

• 3+ years of experience in Image Signal Processing design, development, implementation, and verification.

• 1+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above).

• 1+ years in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports (only applies to positions with direct reports).

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

Pay range:

$139,000.00 - $208,000.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
