An organization within Northrop Grumman's Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) division, Cutting Edge Optronics is a leading provider of high-power laser diode arrays, high power pump modules and diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) lasers. We are a vertically integrated manufacturer capable of supplying unmounted diode bars, packaged laser diodes, DPSS modules, laser diode drivers and complete DPSS laser systems. Northrop Grumman - Cutting Edge Optronics (CEO) is looking for a highly motivated Assembler for wafer processing. The Semiconductor Wafer Fabrication Technician performs operations associated with the fabrication of semiconductor laser wafers. All work takes place in a team-oriented, mobile phone-free, fragrance-free cleanroom. Responsibilities are subject to change dependent upon your personal experience/strengths and specific needs of Cutting Edge Optronics.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform wafer production operations including photolithography, wet and dry etching, and metallization.

  • Measure and inspect wafers using a microscope, profilometer, and/or ellipsometer.

  • Handle chemicals used in the production process, including sulfuric acid, hydrogen peroxide and acetic acid

  • Mount and thin wafers using a slurry-based lapping and polishing equipment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Excellent fine motor skills.

  • Comfortable wearing full cleanroom attire and working under yellow lighting

  • Good oral communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Able to follow written operational procedures.

  • Willingness and capability to learn new tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-year technical associate's degree

  • Experience with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • The ability to handle small, fragile materials using a vacuum wand or tweezer.

  • Six months to one year of relevant experience and/or training.

Salary Range: $31,400 - $52,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
