An exceptional opportunity awaits within the prestigious Mars Petcare Division, Science and Diagnostics, specifically for our renowned Antech Diagnostics brand. We are in search of an experienced Finance Manager to lead our financial operations across our UK division.

Role overview

As the Finance Manager, you will report to the Regional Finance Director for Northern Europe, serving as the primary contact for all financial matters within the UK. We are seeking a motivated self-starter with experience in implementing best practices, financial reporting, budget planning, and comprehensive financial management. This role is based in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, and requires occasional travel for workshops or training sessions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements adhering to local GAAP and US GAAP.

  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.

  • Manage the booking and maintenance of fixed assets, loans, and leasing contracts.

  • Reconcile, analyse, and evaluate balance sheet accounts as part of account reconciliations.

  • Prepare VAT returns and report results to the parent company.

  • Perform, analyse, and document closing entries in accordance with internal control guidelines.

  • Act as the primary contact for auditors and participate in cross-departmental optimization projects.

Key skills and experience required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification.

  • CPA or equivalent certification.

  • Over 6 years of experience in Financial Management with a focus on the UK market.

  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping, accounting, and tax law.

  • Experience in balance sheet preparation according to local and US-GAAP standards.

  • Proficiency in ERP/reporting systems and advanced Excel skills.

  • Exceptional communication abilities.

  • Strong self-initiative and affinity for numbers.

Work Experience
