St. John Fisher College Enterprise Applications Administrator in Rochester, New York

Overview:

St. John Fisher University is an independent, liberal arts institution that provides a transformative education to approximately 3,800 undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students each year. Across its five Schools, Fisher offers nearly 40 majors in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, business, education, and nursing; 11 pre-professional programs; and master’s and doctoral programs in business, nursing, education, pharmacy, and public health. Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and maintain various applications that include Brightspace/D2L, Starfish, CSAccess/ CBORD , and others.

  • Manage customer reported incidents, service requests, and change requests.

  • Collaborate and complete project work and support application testing with functional partners and Programmer Analysts.

  • Maintain and support application integration and environment configurations.

  • Coordinate patch, release, and maintenance activities for assigned applications and related integrated software. Collaborate with the functional partners to establish system defaults, policies and procedures, and strategic plans for systems use and expansion.

  • Work with Educational Technologist to manage the St. John Fisher University’s Brightspace environment.

  • Coordinate more technical problems with application vendors directly and with the appropriate internal OIT Staff.

  • Explore new learning technologies and how they integrate with responsible Enterprise Applications.

  • Responsible for managing the archiving and retrieval process for responsible Enterprise Application.

  • Manage user roles.

  • Manage application version change control process.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in related field; 5+ years professional experience in an IT setting; experience in higher education desirable but not required.

Competencies / Skills:

Competencies/Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, customers, and the general public.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Required Skills:

· Prior experience in supporting users of Enterprise systems is highly desirable in this technical front-end role.

· Familiar with user aspects, problems, implementation, set up and maintenance of online courses.

· Adept at troubleshooting end-user problems and effectively communicating solutions.

· Demonstrated experience with system administration.

· Communicate well with others both verbally and in writing and be able to effectively interact with administration, faculty, staff and other outside contacts.

· Organize and prioritize workload in order to meet necessary deadlines.

· Make independent judgments/decisions within established guidelines.

· Good organizational and interpersonal skills.

· Proactive individual with the ability to anticipate institutional needs.

· Customer Focused.

· Service Minded.

· Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.

· Preferred Skills:

  • Professional experience, preferred but not required, with the following applications:

· Brightspace

· SCORM

· Google Suite/Microsoft Suite

· TeamDynamix

· Oracle

· Podcasting and streaming video technologies such as YuJa/VoiceThread

· Possess advanced technical computer skills, including experience with content management software ( CMS ), Customer Relationship Management ( CRM ) software, basic programming, basic query writing, and data analysis.

· Experience with vendor relationship management.

· Experience writing reports from enterprise systems data.

· Experience with configuring and managing LTI /3rd-Party installations on an LMS .
