FIRST STATE BANK -- JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:                   Branch Manager                                    STATUS      Exempt 

DEPARTMENT:             Retail Services

REPORTS TO:               Retail Services

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Leads and directs all sales/service activities as well as business development to achieve desired results in deposit and customer relationship growth, retention, revenue, market share, and customer/employee satisfaction. Continuously works to lead and coach the branch team to ensure the successful development and performance of all employees in the areas of customer experience, sales goals, and leadership. The Branch Manager is accountable for the retention and growth of the branch team and is ultimately responsible for all Branch Operations ensuring regulatory compliance. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Manage and lead priorities through planning and execution to drive all aspects of branch performance including growth activities for outside business development.
  • Active involvement in community organizations and activities to enhance the company's image and promote and develop additional referral sources and business
  • Lead team to provide excellent customer service and effectively resolve customer issues
  • Maintain knowledge and educate team on all products, services technology, and policies
  • Develop key internal partnerships to drive business in the market area
  • Responsible for acquiring and retaining talent through effective onboarding, coaching and development.
  • Monitor, analyze and create branch metrics to determine branch performance towards strategic initiatives.
  • Manage the overall operations of the branch, adhering to all operational, security, risk and regulatory related policies and procedures
  • Handle complex situations with confidence, knowledge, and creativity
  • Hold employees accountable for their performance, attitude, and behavior
  • Accept and process consumer loan applications and prepare loan documentation for approved loans
  • Actively engage in communication with supervisor through coaching and professional development
  • Actively coach staff for their development, including regularly providing feedback and direction towards performance goals.
  • Create and maintain a courteous and professional relationship with co-workers while maintaining timely and prompt daily attendance

  • Perform other branch related positions in the absence of others

* * REQUIRED PARTICIPATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency (GED)
  • 4+ years related job experience
  • 2+ years of management experience
  • Higher education preferred but not required
  • Active and compliant NMLS registration

* * additional position requirements:

Demonstrate proficiency with technology and software and ability to operate standard office equipment for extended periods of time.

Assume responsibility for branch performance and branch staff performance.
