The position is to join a SOC (Security Operations Center) development team to gather requirements for detections, integrations, and automations from the SOC and IR teams then create custom code to enable and support enterprise-level detection and incident response operations.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security tools and solutions for the protection of the organization's data, systems, and networks.

  • Troubleshooting security tools, agents and related logging and network problems.

  • Development of custom code to enable runbooks, playbooks, integrations, and automations.

  • Participating in the change management process.

  • Daily administrative tasks, reporting, and communication with the relevant departments in the organization.

  • Contribute to the overall performance and success of the Security Operations Center

  • Providing guidance and direction to leadership concerning preparations necessary to aid in the prevention and early detection of cyber events, including improving visibility and structural changes within the corporate IT and Cybersecurity infrastructure

The base salary range for this position is $87,000 - $114,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, software engineering, system analysis or related field of study, or equivalent experience

  • 3 years of experience in a combination of Information Security, and/or IT, and/or Development

  • Hands-on technical Cybersecurity experience across multiple domains of Cybersecurity

  • Experience in Python development, QA, and debug

  • Technical understanding of Mac OSX, Microsoft Windows, and Linux/Unix system administrative and security controls

  • Familiarity with secure development practices and secure software lifecycle management

  • Familiarity with incident response and security operations within public cloud environments

  • Familiarity with incident response and security operations within large corporate on-prem environments including co-located data centers

  • Experience with EDR, AV, SOAR, SIEM technologies including log analysis and common information models.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAF and packet analysis tools

  • Experience with Active Directory, LDAP, TACACS, and other access and Identity management technologies

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation

  • Excellent written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills; ability to communicate effectively and clearly to both technical and non-technical staff

Confidentiality: Knowledge of practices and policies governing disclosure of information about the organization, its business activities, and employees; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply industry knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

Information Security Management: Knowledge of the processes, tools, and techniques of information security management; ability to deploy and monitor information security systems, while detecting, controlling, and preventing violations of IT security.

IT Governance: Knowledge of the accountability framework and processes used to encourage proper behavior in IT activities and operations; ability to implement IT systems and controls to meet business needs and requirements.
