Essential Responsibilities

  • Research projects in the field of interventional radiology and radiology from academic sites using commercially available technologies will be supported by the Digital Research Scientist. This support will enable researchers to optimize system parameters and clinical workflows for execution of their projects, and to ensure compliance with all regulations.

  • The Digital Research Scientist will support AI software product development and introduction (NPIs) together with regional and global GEHC development and engineering teams.

  • The Digital Research Scientist will facilitate liaison between the site and GE Healthcare support teams to optimize clinical routines and facilitate site-specific clinical research projects.

  • He will develop, coordinate, and deliver product training to customers and build strong scientific and business relationships with customers.

  • Under the supervision of the Regional Research Manager the Digital Research Scientist will coordinate his activities with the Digital Innovation Team Leader, Zone Clinical Leader, Modality Research Manager, and Modality engineering teams (physicists, apps leaders).

  • He will support customers in research and train them to achieve the highest quality of use.

  • He will be a recognized expert in product/clinical technical skills and answer a wide range of questions regarding software and clinical applications.

  • Regular reporting will provide regular feedback on customer satisfaction and needs to GE Healthcare teams.

  • He will indirectly provide support to the site’s publishing strategy as part of its own research projects.

  • If necessary, he may participate in trade fairs and professional conferences with educational and scientific training and product demonstrations.

  • Support the informatics law RDA annual report with timely delivering the progress reports of the research projects.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • MSc in Science (Engineering, Biomedical Imaging, Medical Imaging, Medical Physics ..).

  • 5 years+ clinical experience in Interventional Radiology.

  • Machine Learning / Deep Learning software development experience.

  • Strong willingness and focus on customer satisfaction.

  • Can work independently and take initiative in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Team player: ability to motivate others and work effectively with diverse multi-functional teams

  • Possess strong training skills to teach customers the functions and applications of the equipment in the learning style that best suits the situation.

  • Ability to interpret and translate complex technical data and systems.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Strong analytical and process skills

  • Computer skills (software and post-processing).

  • Willingness to travel within the territory and attend sales meetings and trade shows

  • Portuguese/English fluent

Desired characteristics:

  • New Product Introduction (NPI) experience

  • PhD student in Science

  • Ability to document, plan and execute programs.

  • Scientific competence, knowledge of the health sector or its industry and/or an internship already completed in the segment would be a plus

  • Easy adaptation to new environments

  • Good ability to set priorities and work in multi-tasking mode

  • Ability to develop new ideas through collaboration and creative solutions

  • Motivating and influencing skills within the organization
