Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer in Redmond, Washington

Are you intrigued about the possibility of working on Windows Storage Technologies and related end user experiences within the Operating System? Are you interested in data analytics, analyzing and leveraging big data, defining business and product metrics, and deriving product insights across consumer and enterprise customer segments? Come join the Windows Storage team that builds the platform and end user experiences around Storage across Windows devices and the Cloud.

The Storage team is responsible for providing users with the storage utilization and management pieces with end to end experiences built around it. Users expect Windows to be the best platform for cloud connected devices even when local storage is limited. This includes managing space utilization with built-in apps like Storage Settings and other experiences in managing data locally and on the cloud. With devices proliferating, customers expect a better experience with connecting to Microsoft services and leveraging the Cloud for storage at Windows scale. The team will help assess the health of these experiences from development to in-market. The Storage platform adds to the rich extensibility model of Windows with ISVs adding storage drivers and file system filters along with the modern Storage API that is available for partners to build classic and modern apps. The reliability and health of this ecosystem plays an important role in how Customers perceive overall Windows quality. It thus provides a wonderful opportunity to partner with external ISVs and constantly manage and assess ecosystem health. We invest heavily in telemetry, and you will be responsible for the entire data pipeline, from instrumenting our product code, to mining big data smartly.

  • Create software to process the incoming telemetry data, visualize usage and identify problems
