Microsoft Corporation Senior Software Engineer in Redmond, Washington

Our mission is to safeguard every user with innovative proactive protection, detection, and response technologies, aiming to stay ahead of malicious actors and anticipating the threats of the future. We work with partners across Microsoft to develop the next generation of capabilities to detect and block emerging threats, sophisticated attacker techniques, malicious tools, and compromised infrastructure.  Our team develops features for Windows, Linux and MacOS working together as a cross-functional group of software engineers, product managers, data scientists and security researchers. 

We’re looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer with indepth understanding of OS internals to help us improve and evolve our MDE products. You will work closely with MDE architects and engineers to design and develop security solutions that provide timely, best-in-class protection across the breadth of MDE client’s device ecosystem.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of professional hands-on systems programming experience with C/C+Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record architecting and developing robust and extensible solutions 

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills 

  • Experience with multi-threaded / parallel programming 

  • Deep understanding of one or more of the following areas: OS internals, endpoint detection and response, or anti-malware

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year
