Microsoft Corporation Senior Program Manager in Redmond, Washington

Global Treasury and Financial Services (GTFS) manages and protects Microsoft’s $140B in financial assets to support the digital transformation journey of Microsoft’s customers, partners & vendors by providing competitive credit and payment solutions to support revenue growth while managing credit risk. The center of excellence team within GTFS is focused on optimizing business processes and data usage to deliver world class business solutions. We support all aspects of work in GTFS from credit risk reviews, Treasury operations, cash collections and operational efficiency to business analytics and compliant reporting. We are seeking a Senior Program Manager who has deep comfort and capabilities in leveraging business and technology knowledge to deliver key capabilities.

Responsibilities

The individual should be a technically savvy and operationally disciplined professional with a established record of successfully delivering medium-sized, cross-discipline solutions for a finance or business operations team. Some of the recent projects delivered by this team include building a machine learning based approach to credit risk management, a workflow tool for deal reviews, approvals, and processing of requests and a state-of-the-art business intelligence capability leveraging Azure based Power BI reporting.

  • Working collaboratively across disciplines and engaging with stakeholders to frame, structure and prioritize business problems where technology-based solutions can have an impact.

  • End to end ownership of a project including defining scope, identifying core team and cross-functional stakeholders, schedule management, and tracking success.

  • Presentation of program status and issues to management on a regular and consistent basis.

  • Providing input represented in both business and technical terms with descriptive requirements and design including mock-ups and process workflows.

  • Creating high quality features and user stories including testable acceptance criteria.

  • Ensuring projects consistently meet standards and policies (security, privacy, etc.)

  • Ability to manage multiple releases at the same time using the agile sprint delivery model

  • Understanding technical architecture to determine project impacts.

  • Managing vendor engineering teams to ensure on-time project delivery.

  • Managing and working with the business to clean and prioritize product backlogs.

  • Providing actionable details for the engineering team on future project phase requirements.

  • Creating or capturing key business outcomes that can be used to measure the success of the technology being deployed.

  • Having a good understanding of the business and finance needs and be willing to learn, engage and offer innovative ideas.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years operating as product owner (or related) building and leading products using Agile methodologies.

  • Certification in project management.

  • Demonstrated ability of managing or supporting technology deployment in SAP, workflow solutions or machine learning is a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborating across geographically distributed teams.

  • Effective leadership skills with relentless effort for delivering impact.

  • Effective written and verbal communications/presentation skills and experience of presenting to senior executives and decision makers.

  • Effective judgment, decision making skills, and the ability to work under continual deadline pressure.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and facilitate business decisions with data.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and comfortable working through ambiguity.

  • Compliance focus is essential; growth mindset with a desire for learning.

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.
