Microsoft Corporation Community Affairs Senior Content Manager in Redmond, Washington

The Datacenter Community Affairs team is looking for a Community Affairs Senior Content Manager who is interested in driving the strategy, design, and implemention of localized educational campaigns to raise awareness and understanding of Microsoft datacenters, as well as highlight the benefits of Microsoft datacenters for society, local economies, and the environment.

This Americas-based role will design, test, analyze, and distribute education campaign materials across key communities using print and online channels.

The Community Affairs team is part of Microsoft’s datacenter organization – Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) – supporting the growth and operations of Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure by partnering with the people and organizations in datacenter communities to drive social opportunity, economic growth, and environmental sustainability.

Responsibilities

Campaign Strategy:

  • Partner with the global community affairs lead, research team and content director to create a global campaign strategy to shift sentiment of residents in priority datacenter communities.

Content Development:

  • Oversee and edit localized campaign materials designed by our agency including print advertorials, postcards, blog content, and social media artifacts.

Implementation:

  • Own the delivery and implementation of localized campaign materials across multiple regions and through collaboration with Marketing.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the Americas, Europe (EMEA), and Asia (APAC) regions to align on content development, message testing, and distribution plans.

Campaign Analysis:

  • Analyze the performance of campaign materials and provide recommendations to strengthen future iterations.

Alignment:

  • Partner with adjacent organizations to align with Public Relations, Marketing, and Corporate Social Responsibility efforts.

Research:

  • Interpret research data to help inform programs, investments, and strategies.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communication or related field AND 6+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement

  • OR equivalent experience

  • 4+ years of experience working in integrated marketing, direct response marketing, public relations, or a marketing communications role

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check : This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience across project management, marketing, editing, analytics and communication

  • Understanding of or prior experience with the datacenter industry

  • Ability to edit copy

  • Experience driving global integrated marketing campaigns

  • Experience evaluating reach and engagement print and digital campaigns

  • Experience managing agencies and creative talent

  • Understanding of research principles and tactics along with modern communication strategies

  • Experience building and nurture partnerships, collaborating and influencing across multiple stakeholders both internal and external to Microsoft

  • Skilled at prioritization, creating order and marshalling resources towards common goals and driving for results

  • Ability to provide strategic and tactical guidance to leaders across the organization

  • Able to provide clarity in complex situations in alignment to business deadlines

  • Experience navigating ambiguity to create clarity for key industry team stakeholders as it relates to communications and storytelling

  • Advanced usage ability of Microsoft Office product suite including, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint.

Business Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,200 - $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $142,200 - $213,200 per year.
