Dignity Health Medical Group - North State is seeking a Medical Oncologist to join our multi-specialty group in Redding, California. We are searching for a medical oncologist who is passionate about patient care and meeting the needs of the community.

Dignity Health Mercy Regional Cancer Center is Commission on Cancer Accredited for 36 years. Our medical oncologists are supported by their own team that includes and RN, MA & scheduler. We have 24 infusion chairs at two locations in Redding that are managed by experienced OCN certified oncology nurses. Our team of oncologists and our oncology nurse practitioner work in close collaboration with our outstanding pharmacy team who provide on sight compounding and consult services.

Our comprehensive cancer program includes support from nurse navigators/liaison, social worker, pharmacy liaison for our oral medication program, research coordinator, cancer registrars, case managers, registered dietitians, genetic counselors, hospitalists, hospice team and palliative care team.

The cancer program is comprised of medical and radiation oncologists, two infusion rooms, 2 radiation centers, clinical trials, lung cancer screening program, community screenings, oncology symposium, patient assistance fund, tele genetics, home health, hospice, palliative care, 17 bed inpatient unit-with daily multidisciplinary rounds, survivorship program, rapid diagnosis clinic, weekly tumor board, cancer resource center, lab, imaging, support groups, bereavement & grief support.

Salary Range: $500,000-$680,000

Responsibilities

Patient Care:

  • Diagnose and treat various medical conditions.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.

  • Conduct thorough medical examinations and histories.

Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

  • Provide clear and concise medical information.

  • Foster a collaborative and patient-centered approach to healthcare.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.

  • Document medical findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.

  • Ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations.

Diagnostic Procedures:

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging.

  • Perform procedures as needed

  • Collaborate with specialists for further diagnostic evaluation.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.

  • Provide consultative services to other healthcare providers.

Quality Improvement:

  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.

  • Review and analyze clinical outcomes for continuous improvement.

  • Implement changes to enhance patient care and safety.

Compliance:

  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice.

  • Stay informed about healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Participate in quality audits to ensure adherence to standards.

Continuous Learning:

  • Stay abreast of medical advancements and best practices.

  • Participate in ongoing medical education and training.

  • Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications

  • A valid and unrestricted California medical license

  • Completion of an Oncology Fellowship and Board Eligible/Board Certified are required

  • Experienced physicians and new grads both invited to apply

Pay Range

$240.00 - $327.00 /hour
