The Director, Global Commercial Digital Health, will lead the strategy development and commercialization of digital health solutions globally and build industry-leading Digital Health capabilities in Global Commercial Data Science (GCDS) and across the J&JIM GCSO in support of our therapeutic areas and disease area strongholds globally. This individual will work closely with the VP, Global Digital Health, and other leaders in Global Commercial Data Science to drive the GCSO transformation to optimize our global go-to-market launch planning strategies through innovative and highly strategic decisions and investments in Digital Health.

Major responsibilities include leveraging their deep industry expertise, and gaining critical cross-functional insight, on opportunities for acceleration of Digital Health opportunities across GCSO and putting that strategy into action. Key partnerships include Commercial, Real-World Evidence, Commercial Analytics, Medical Affairs and Market Access as well as outside GCSO with regional Commercial and Medical/Scientific Affairs teams, J&JIM R&D, J&J Technology (JJT) Data Sciences and broader J&JIM teams, and others. This individual will sit on the Global Digital Health LT and will interact regularly with other leaders across GCSO and the regional businesses in support of Digital Health initiatives. This individual will report directly to the VP, Global Digital Health, GCSO, and partner closely with other Global Commercial Data Science LT members.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategize and prioritize commercialization of digital health assets (Clinical Decision Support, SaMD, DTx etc.) tightly linked to the commercial priorities of the therapeutic areas

  • Help lead the global strategy development and execution of our global go-to-market launch planning involving innovative and highly strategic Digital Health approaches, including e.g., wearables/sensors, digital diagnostics, patient monitoring and disease management systems and digital therapeutics.

  • Show leadership in a matrixed working environment and ability to work with a diverse group of collaborators

  • Work side by side with the Data Science, RWE, and Data, Platforms and Partnerships and Precision Medicine teams on joint projects to ensure that the optimal combination of Digital Health expertise is being leveraged to deliver on high value use cases / problems

  • Champion a customer-centric and data-driven approach that incorporates customer insights and feedback, and industry-wide best practices, into all design activities (i.e., ROI-based digital health initiatives)

  • Further expand the internal J&JIM knowledge in Digital Health and best practice sharing

  • Provide experience with the commercialization of Digital Health solutions to the organization and develop commercialization strategies globally

  • Identify and evaluate external companies for commercial partnership, including assessment of strategic, operational and cultural fit with J&J

  • Develop deep internal expertise in understanding customer-centric experience design approaches and methodologies, including design thinking, usability testing, customer co-creation, A/B and multivariate testing, and prototyping from a commercial perspective

  • Bring robust analytical skills to evaluate and optimize customer experiences on digital channels through a commercial test and learn approach

  • Drive commercial strategies with other GCSO and J&JIM leaders by understanding how to create a competitive advantage through strategic Digital Health investments

  • Educate the organization on emerging Digital Health trends, opportunities, competitive threats, and new technologies that can continue to differentiate the company

  • Assess the financial implications and business case for Digital Health investments and help communicate overarching return on investment, business value drivers, success metrics, etc.

  • Show leadership in a matrixed working environment and ability to work with a diverse group of collaborators

  • Work side by side with the Data Science, RWE, and Data, Platforms and Partnerships and Precision Medicine teams on joint projects to ensure that the optimal combination of Digital Health expertise is being leveraged to deliver on high value use cases / problems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, computational biology, statistics, epidemiology or related. PhD/PharmD/MD/MBA preferred.

  • At least 10 years of experience required; 6 years with an advanced degree, e.g., Ph.D., in Pharma/MedTech, payer, academia or government environment.

  • Experience leading design and development of Digital Health solutions spanning from user centric needs identification to user activation

  • Experience in creating a collaborative team culture with diverse set of stakeholders

  • Experience with Digital Health in a commercial setting required

  • Experience leading Digital Health transformation activities required

  • Demonstrated ability to influence in a large and matrixed organization required

  • Experience to develop, communicate, advocate and execute a strategy required

  • Proven experience in prioritizing and managing a complicated portfolio of projects required

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset required

  • Excellent communication and training skills required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A track record of negotiating complex deals preferred

  • A broad set of relationships across technology companies and investors preferred

  • A strategic understanding of how technology can improve health preferred

  • Experience working with diagnostics preferred

  • Experience working in multiple therapeutic areas preferred

Travel:

Approximately 25% travel required; some international travel required.

Salary

The base pay range for this position is $142,000 – $244,950 PER YEAR.

Bonus

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
