Job Description

AECOM's Urbanism + Planning team is actively seeking a creative and enthusiastic Urban Planner for employment in Raleigh, NC. The project planner will serve on multi-disciplinary planning efforts in North Carolina and across the east coast. As part of a highly collaborative team of planners, designers, data analysts, architects, engineers, environmental specialists, and economists, the Urban Planner will help clients advance projects including citywide plans, corridor studies, and policy documents.

The responsibilities of the planner role include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Compile data and conduct research in support of planning initiatives

  • Create innovative and informative graphics and maps

  • Write, design, and format sections of planning reports and documents

  • Produce material for project meetings and stakeholder engagement activities

  • Ensure quality of work meets AECOM standards

  • Effectively manage project tasks and work independently as well as in teams

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS plus 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency or experience and/or education

  • Relevant experience must include urban planning or similar experience

  • Demonstrated experience with ArcGIS and/or Adobe Creative Suite (professional samples may be requested at time of interview)

  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel + PowerPoint) (professional samples may be requested at time of interview)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in urban and regional planning or related field is preferred

  • 3+ years of relevant urban planning or related work experience is desired

  • AICP certification or in the process of obtaining is preferred

  • Previous analytical or urban design experience in the field of land use and multi-modal planning is helpful

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $60,000.00 - $82,000.00.
