Engineer I - Draft

POSITION SUMMARY:

Prepare detailed drawings/OMS of parts and assemblies, indicating dimensions, fastening methods, and other requirements to enable consistent assembly processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Creates and modifies detailed drawings from sketches, layouts or notes provided by engineering, using CAD & Graphics software.

2. Contributes design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation and quality of product.

3. Works with engineers regarding model accuracy, drafting standards and DFA/DFM activities.

4. Works with data management including file maintenance, backup, and storage.

5. Maintains Bill of Materials and works with engineers regarding accuracy using spread sheet software.

6. Updates drawings/OMS drafting tasks in ECO process.

7. Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.

8. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have proven drafting and illustrating skills utilizing software packages such as graphics design tools, photo editing tools, document publishing tools, and drafting / solid modeling tools. Experience with SolidWorks and Adobe Illustrator is preferred.

• Must have organizational and problem solving skills.

• Ability to design fixtures for production.

• Ability to work independently.

• Ability to manage many projects at one time.

• Ability to be creative.

• Engineering skills.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of two years related experience.

• Basic “Drafting to ANSI Standards” class.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering / Computer Aided Drafting or equivalent.
