General Responsibilities

The IT Internal Auditor monitors and evaluates how well risks are managed in Evertec.
In this role, you also will have the following responsibilities:
• Monitor how well the business is governed and internal processes are working.
• Bring a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk, management, control, and governance processes.
• Protect Evertec's assets while ensuring compliance with internal procedures.
• Ensures that audits comply with the Internal Audit Manual and audit internal procedures (Financial, Information Technology, Operational, Sarbanes Oxley Act, and other Compliance programs) to ensure compliance with prescribed audit standards.
• Analyze and compile audit findings.
• Provide periodic reports to the Internal Audit Manager and Director regarding the progress of the audits and findings identified.
• Ensure there is an effective audit recommendation and follow-up process to assess the continuous accountability of management until corrective actions are implemented.
• Prepare audit reports and written material detailing audit results, observations, and recommendations.
• Assist external auditors in the execution of their audits.
• Document, evaluate, and test Information Technology General Controls and automated controls to determine their existence, adequacy, and operating effectiveness.
• Evaluate the internal controls and risks of the company's technology network.
• Identify any possible weaknesses in the system's network and create an action plan to prevent information technology security breaches.
• Take part in the planning and execution of internal audit procedures.
 

 

Performs duties through methods and actions that are consistently ethical and in total compliance with the laws, applicable regulations, Code of Ethics, corporate policies and guidelines and rules of conduct. Completes corporate trainings and certifications intended for the detection and prevention of money laundering related activities and fraud, insider training and conflict of interest policies and procedures, as applicable.

 

Education and Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Technology or related area.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in IT Internal Audit, Sarbanes Oxley Act, and Internal Controls.
 

 

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Knowledge of information technology, general controls and system auditing.
• Knowledge of industry control standards (COSO, ISO, PCI, Cloud Standards, NIST, etc.), Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) internal controls, SOC 1, and SOC 2 is preferred but optional.
• Knowledge of distributed technology (e.g., Unix/Oracle/Sybase and Windows NT), Web-based technology, and basic infrastructure controls.
• Ability to assess the effectiveness of internal controls over crucial IT risks, identify significant exposures, analyze transactions and other management information, and detect changes in key risks and control effectiveness.
• Skill in developing appropriate recommendations to address exposures.
• Ability to grasp complex subject matter (technical and business processes) and apply sound analytical skills and business orientation to assessing processes, risks, and controls.
• Excellent project management, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent verbal and written skills, both in English and Spanish.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) is preferred but not required.

Additional Information

Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm. 

Available to work extended hours, weekends and/or holidays as needed and the availability to travel as required supporting projects in the region.
