Brown University Research Assistant-2 in Providence, Rhode Island

Job Description:

Assist in research on the cognitive neuroscience of memory and executive function. Methods used in the lab include behavioral testing, functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), electroencephalography, transcranial magnetic stimulation, and the testing of patient populations. Responsibilities include general assistance with on going projects in the lab and general lab administration. This position may require flexible hours (early mornings, one weekend day).

This is a 100% grant-funded, fixed-term position with the possibility of renewal (annual) depending on the funding source and satisfactory work performance.

All offers of employment are contingent upon a criminal background check and education verification satisfactory to Brown University.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree required (in Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, Computer Science, Psychology, or a related field preferred), with 1-2 years of related research experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience with fMRI or other cognitive neuroscience methods will be given preference.

  • Basic computer skills required. Programming ability, particularly in MATLAB, will be given preference.

  • Possesses a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive campus community.
