Tulsa Legacy Charter School is a premier PreK through 8th-grade charter school in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We continue to grow and harness best practices to serve and empower our scholars each year.

The Culture Assistant is instrumental in supporting and promoting a robust, restorative culture that seamlessly integrates with our school's dynamic programming and rigorous academic curriculum. This role is central to implementing our Restore Center's initiatives, designed to significantly enhance our scholars' social and emotional competencies and adherence to the learning environment's expectations.

The Culture Assistant is a full-time support staff colleague who brings a restorative lens and works with scholars to strive for healthy social and emotional practices in classroom instruction, personal interactions, and daily classroom routines and procedures. They work closely with the Dean of Culture and Counselor to facilitate initiatives that lead to a strong campus culture.

  • Associates degree in the field of education, social work, child and family development, curriculum development, or related field required; bachelor degree preferred.

  • Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment

  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress

  • At least 1-2 years of working with scholars and scholar behavior

  • Experience in community relations, human relations, organizing and coalition building.

  • Excellent communicator and culture builder

  • Can speak across lines of difference

  • Excellent work ethic, positive attitude, and exceptional people skills

  • Knowledge of current educational theories and various teaching methodologies.

  • Have the ability to set and reach ambitious goals and can handle the intensity required.

  • Are passionate about serving an ethnically & economically diverse scholar body.

  • Enjoy cultivating deep relationships with scholars, families, and staff to create a positive school environment.

  • Strong familiarity with education and child welfare policies and best practices and a motivation to continue expanding that knowledge base.

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and activities simultaneously.

  • Ability and enthusiasm for promoting the school and its mission to a broad and diverse group of people.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment

  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress

  • Excellent teamwork skills and an ability to collaborate closely with colleagues and partners to identify challenges and design and implement solutions.

  • Ability to analyze educational data, testing instruments, and measurement practices

  • Provide individual and group counseling relating to academic success, understanding of self and others, communication skills, decision making, relationship skills, conflict resolution, and goal setting

  • Participates in the delivery of any counseling based professional development sessions as needed

  • Uses data gathered from needs assessment to develop programming to positively impact scholars
