Northwest College Library Coordinator in Powell, Wyoming

Position duties may include: Reference: Researches and responds to reference and circulation-related questions, which include: determining appropriate search strategy; identifying sources of information; determining appropriate amount of material required; teaching patrons on the use of sources; determining required follow up; scheduling library rooms and equipment; and performing other related activities.

Acquisitions: Ordering and managing library materials, which may include: creating work methods and workflow processes, determining what to order; assisting in determining materials to discard; tracking orders; maintaining spreadsheets of orders; following up with vendors on materials not received or damaged; keeping abreast of changes in frequency and titles; and performing other related activities. Creates work methods and workflow processes in library material ordering and processing. Provides scheduling and training to support staff as directed on library procedures, processes and practices. Participates in developing and administering library budget; tracks expenditures and revenues including online resource licensing, payments and reimbursements; and calculates and tracks library funds endowments; collects and prepares budget reports.

Cataloging and Technical Services: Performs collection development activities, which includes: cataloging materials; identifying materials for inclusion in collections; analyzing book/product reviews and comparisons; determining placement of materials within the collection; determining which records to include; determining correct classification numbers and material type; identifying required special processing methods; editing existing records to enhance, correct, reassign, and improve access; identifying library materials for disposal; and, performing other related activities.

Circulation Management: Managing circulation functions: Manage software and circulation rules and reports, monitoring, compiling and preparing overdue notices and collections.

Government Documents: Managing government documents, which includes: determining what to order; determining documents that should be discarded; tracking orders; maintaining spreadsheets of orders; following up with vendors on materials not received or damaged; keeping abreast of changes in serial numbers and document numbers; and, performing other related activities

Troubleshoots technical problems and assists staff and users with the computer lab, software, library equipment, downloading and installing software, and automated library operating systems.

Collection Development: Researches and selects materials for purchase and/or replacement in applicable sections of the library for specific subject areas based on academic training.

Participates in/on a variety of meetings, committees, training sessions, conferences and/or other related groups in order to receive and convey information and represent the library within the community.

Inter-library Loan Management: Coordinates and oversees inter-library loans, which includes: searching for requested items utilizing a variety of resources; processing and sending out materials to other libraries; requesting items for patrons; tracking what is received, over-due and sent; and, performing other related activities. Supervises students performing the clerical aspects of this process.

Archives: Maintains institutional and historical archives, which includes: accepting donations; maintaining inventory records and logs; performing accession and classification duties; storing materials; researching materials; developing material location tools; publicizing materials; purchasing materials; and performing other related activities.

Programming: Selects and prepares exhibits, which includes: identifying and publicizing books; monitoring and maintaining inventory; hanging displays; arranging exhibit openings; coordinating exhib t transportation needs; and performing other related activities.

Data Collection: Collects statistics and helps prepare annual state and national library report.

Instruction: Teaches information literacy classes, which includes: securing teaching space; analyzing assignments; collaborating with instructors in specific disciplines; determining appropriate methods and materials to utilize; preparing lesson plans; collecting and preparing teaching materials; creating assessments; consulting and following up with students and faculty; prioritizing collection needs; evaluating and selecting appropriate instructional materials; and, performing other related activities.

Website Management: Serves as the library webmaster, which includes: creating, designing, coding, updating, and managing the librarys website, including special collections.

Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
