Position Summary The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the management of the Material Warehouse Operations with responsibility and oversight of Material Control, Traffic, and Distribution. This position will be a key contributor to determine capacity, design, staffing, controls, safety and budgetary investments in all areas of the Warehouse Operations. You will ensure high levels of customer service by working with other warehouses, vendors, carriers, and STERIS' Manufacturing and Customer Service groups. You will also maintain appropriate inventory record keeping and data management systems as needed to accommodate Corporate, Regulatory, and Governmental requirements. Duties Responsible for the receipt, management, of materials to support manufacturing operations and shipment of finished goods and service parts to Distribution Centers. Leads team to identify, develop and implement warehouse strategies, design, processes, and infrastructure to meet businesses needs and gain greater value in warehouse operations including spend, speed of delivery, and materials management. Creates and/or authorizes all Standard Operating Procedures in the department. Ensures training is completed and remains up to date on these procedures. In line with ISO/FDA controls, provides, and supervises the required record-keeping and data management systems. Maintains a safe working environment by instructing employees on established safety practices and enforcing these practices. Prepares monthly operational reports and audits the operation against current procedures. Serves on the site's Central Safety Committee. Responsible for the proper operation of equipment, including the training and instruction on equipment use and the requisitioning of needed equipment, material, and maintenance. Ensures all equipment is maintained in their proper working condition. Completes Capital Appropriation Requests as required, supporting the location's operating requirements. Serves as the department's liaison with the Environmental, Health and Safety, and other internal and external agencies/groups. Supports and follows corporate security measures for the facility, products, and human resources. Duties Continued Establishes, maintains, and promotes good relations with employees while also maintaining productivity, attendance, and general order required for the efficient operation of the Materials Warehouse. Ensure that the warehouse facilities are properly staffed and equipped in order to select and distribute materials efficiently and in cost-efficient manner. Supports the development of departmental budgets, expenditures, and site management. Prepares monthly operating performance metrics, semi-annually the Management Review Board presentations, and other operational summary report outs. Coordinates inventory cycle count activities with routine reporting. Works with cross functional groups to ensure traffic activities between warehouse points and the customers are coordinated and optimally managed. Serves as the local Subject Matter Expert for the warehouse group for SAP, Oracle, and other operating systems and tools. Lead operational continuous improvement teams and deploying improvement plans. Incorporate KPI's into daily operations and lead corrective actions to sustain business. Provides a leadership role on assigned corporate wide initiatives when necessary. Summarize and monitor key performance measures. Develop action plans as necessary. #LI-BB1 Required Experience Bachelor's Degree required. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in warehousing, domestic transportation, shipping/receiving or other operations/supply chain function. Minimum of three (3) years of superviso y or management experience. Skills Sound administrative and management skills. Strong persuasive and presentation skills (oral and written). Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization, problems solving, business acumen, and time management skills. Knowledge of computerized warehouse systems and UN/DOT shipping regulations for domestic and international shipments is required. Work Schedule This is an onsite schedule position based in Plymouth, MN. The schedule is: M-F 5:30am - 3:00pm.
