Department Summary

DISH Wireless is looking for a RVP, Wireless Development & Operations - South Region with people-management abilities to help build and operate our 5G network in the South region. The role is based in Dallas.

The RVP will be accountable for overall management and strategy execution for DISH Wireless across the region. This position will be responsible for driving a large-scale wireless infrastructure development program, standards and best practices; and delivering high-performance wireless network infrastructure. The RVP, Wireless Development & Operations - South Region will have strong knowledge of the competitive landscape in the regional markets and use this knowledge to inform management about the opportunities in the region. This role will require travel within the region and periodically to the Corporate Headquarters in Denver.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

In addition to the above, some key responsibilities of the RVP, Wireless Development & Operations - South Region include:

  • Provide oversight and direction for the radio design, acquisition, installation, and implementation of network deployment plans to meet cost and timeline constraints.

  • The leadership of a diverse team of professionals located within the designated market. These activities include resource planning, performance management, organizational development, succession planning, etc.

  • Oversight of strategic vendor partnerships that provide site development, construction, transport, and maintenance services particularly as it relates to delivery of services.

  • Accountability for capital and operating expense budget stewardship, management, and forecasting.

  • Guidance for both short- and long-term network infrastructure programs, strategy, functionality, and operational management practices.

  • Development of operational policies and processes that allow the team to provide best-in-class network services.

  • Overall management of multiple concurrent projects and network-related initiatives that are high-profile, technically complex, and unique in nature.

  • Communicate status and issues at various levels of the organization in a clear and concise manner.

  • Anticipate technical and tactical challenges and develop contingency plans for controlling costs and accelerating market deployment schedules.

  • Establish strong rapport among team members, and support national practices that drive employee engagement and productivity.

  • Work with the national team in review of capital and expenses and achieving targeted financial objectives.

  • Coordinate with the national team for the projected need for additional project support as required.

Skills, Experience and Requirements

15+ years of Wireless Network deployment and operations experience.

7+ years in progressively broader manager roles, leading multiple groups, departments, and teams.

7+ years of site acquisition, network operation, and construction experience with budget accountability.

The ability to use facts and data coupled with great judgment as a basis for making decisions.

The ability to thrive in a start-up environment with significant ambiguity and challenging problems inherent in building a greenfield, stand-alone 5G network, including ownership of policy development.

Executive presence with strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

Previous experience in culture keeping and message ownership.

Bachelor’s Degree: advanced degree preferred.

Salary Ranges

Compensation: $250,000.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
