POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Patient Service Representative (SPSR) leads and performs functions related to the enrollment of new clients. The SPSR registers new clients, obtains basic insurance information, and enters data in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). SPSRs works closely with the Support Services Supervisor, to ensure all PSRs are trained in adherence to department expectations, all patients/clients are provided with exceptional customer services, and all patient scheduling related functions are completed in a timely manner.
Hourly Rate: $20.33
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma plus 2 years of progressively responsible related experience or an Associate’s Degree plus 1 year of progressively responsible related experience is required. Experience in a health care setting including face to face interaction with clients/patients is preferred. Valid Drivers License is required. Safely operates vehicle in the community, based on program needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors staff’s performance to ensure all administrative, and patient related functions are completed in a timely, efficient, and customer-service focused manner.
Models professional, solution focused patient friendly behavior and maintains office milieu.
Oversee the safe, efficient, and comfortable atmosphere of the reception area.
Takes lead in the oversight of the front desk area, including desk coverage and orientation and training of new staff.
Maintains focus on timely access to care for all patients. Overseeing all walk-in appointments in accordance with Wheeler’s scheduling guidelines.
Performs and monitors patient registration process, including insurance verification and collection of demographics and UDS information.
Takes lead in managing scheduling for all disciplines, including but not limited to Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, and the Psychiatric department.
Identifies areas of improvement with the internal process, along with possible solutions and communicates to supervisor/manager.
Maximizes providers’ schedules to ensure patients are seen timely, including making confirmation calls as necessary and backfills no show and cancelled slots by patients/staff according to specified guidelines.
Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture.
