Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Software Engineer to join our team designing and implementing mission critical applications for the US Army! In this role you will get to build capabilities that allow systems to interoperate using various military and commercial interfaces and messaging standards.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Building JAVA based microservices responsible for bringing in various data , in various formats, into the system from external sources

• Ensuring the system communicates with external systems in approved message formats

• Supporting military tactical message formats

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• U.S. Citizenship is required

• Active Secret clearance is preferred; candidate must be able to obtain a security clearance

• Obtained a degree in Computer Science or a related field, or have equivalent work experience with demonstrable capabilities and results

• Developed software leveraging Spring Java Framework

• Worked on efforts where there’s a core team delivering capabilities to other development teams to extend and integrate.

• Worked on applications and components that integrate with COTS messaging solutions such as RabbitMQ

• Developed applications that leverage a Data Service layer that implements REST, SOAP or JAVA endpoint

• Experience using Git (or a Git-based implementation, e.g. Stash, Bitbucket, GitHub) in a collaborative production environment—especially on a large-scale software project

• Published software projects for external consumption, or have made significant contributions to existing open-source projects

• Experience with the Agile or Scrum development methodology

• Experience working as part of a software development team

• Experience with Atlassian products (Jira, Bitbucket/Stash, Nexus)

• Experience with continuous integration or build automation (e.g. Jenkins, Bamboo)

• Able to use modern software build tools, including Git, Jenkins, Maven, and Gradle

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Experience with developing capabilities that support various military standards, such as VMF and USMTF

• Have experience with and are comfortable using non-Windows (Linux, Mac OS X) platforms for software development

Salary Range:

$104,200.00 - $210,600.00
