About the role

  • Our Engineering and Construction team (GEC), composed of 14 people in Paulinia and 80 people worldwide, is integrated into the Industrial Function department and focuses on corrosion and failure analysis in collaboration with the Maintenance and Operation of the Chemical production site.

  • As a Materials & Corrosion Engineer , you will be responsible for the Laboratory Corrosion and Materials of Group Engineering and Construction (GEC) Latam in Paulinia. You will also be the interlocutor of the Business Units in the Latam region for Corrosion and Materials topics. You will ensure the technical interface with GEC Materials and Corrosion leaders in Europe.

  • You will be accountable for:

  • Support the BU´s to solve problems and face the challenges in Materials & Corrosion which impact the productivity and the safety of the plants (chemical plants).

  • Preparation of laboratory and field tests. Failure analysis, material characterization and technical reporting.

  • Bring the right solutions in case of equipment damage, with immediate repair solutions and long-term guidelines based on investigations, tests and experiences feedback and coordinate with other parts if needed.

  • Ensure/enable the use of the Worldwide Materials and Corrosion network, ensuring full use of Know-how techniques to meet customer needs.

  • Conduct studies to investigate and document mechanisms of corrosion in the chemical units, in collaboration with the process engineers of the plant.

  • We offer a permanent contract based on a hybrid working mode.

About you

  • University Degree in Materials Engineering or equivalent.

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in corrosion activities

  • Competencies:

  • Expertise in performing laboratory activities (pilot tests)

  • Welding control expertise is a plus

  • English advanced level

  • Behaviors:

About the pay and benefits

  • Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the Brazil base pay reasonably expected for this role is R$ 132.000,00 to R$ 201.000,00, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
