Description:

Summary:

Responsible for assisting with the day to day operation and direct supervision of assigned activities within the Cage department. Oversee overall department and/or shift(s) as assigned. Ensure daily operations and experiences meet guest expectations. Appropriately respond to and manage any escalated departmental concerns and guest and/or employee challenges. Coordinate credit requests and credit extensions within the hotel/casino. Coordinate collection efforts on delinquent casino accounts, and provide administrative support to the Cage Manager.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with training, developing, measuring performance, disciplining, and/or scheduling department staff, as assigned

  • Lead the tactical execution of strategic initiatives under the direction of division leadership

  • Assist in the establishment of standards of service within assigned department(s) and ensure achievement

  • Monitor and control labor within the department while maintaining adequate coverage in the department based on business demands

  • Review casino credit requests, ensure credit decisions are in compliance with the credit policy

  • Collect casino debts, review delinquent accounts, recommend write-off accounts

  • Maintain accountability of casino gaming chips, coin, currency, patron’s checks, forms, keys and records

  • Handle and resolve any escalated situations that may arise with guests

  • Review credit policy as instructed by executive management

  • Perform Title 31 training and institute periodic updates

  • Assist with development of the departmental operating budget

  • Report any monetary or procedural discrepancy to the Director of Cage and Credit in a timely manner

  • Possess knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal and state) and attendant regulations as well as internal controls, policies and procedures

  • Implement and ensure compliance with policies, procedures and internal controls

  • Process hotel/casino credit applications and verify the validity of the credit requests

  • Prepare and send collection statements as well as make and record collection calls

  • Prepare and list pertinent credit information for credit authorizer’s review

  • Update the Cage/Credit Director and/or Cage Manager on information regarding guest credit history changes within the casino industry

  • Maintain and complete various gaming and company forms and reports

  • Post returned items into the computer system to ensure accurate accountability as well as recording collection notes

  • Input and monitor information in the credit, collections, and payroll systems

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations

  • Provide outstanding customer service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow employees

  • Provide operational support and perform all departmental cage-rep job duties when necessary

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience working in casino cage environment

  • Previous cage leadership experience

  • Able to effectively communicate in small groups, as well as on an individual-basis

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

  • Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and regulatory documents

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume

  • Advanced computer skills

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred

  • Able to effectively communication in English, both written and verbal

  • Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company

  • Verify right to work in the United States

  • Occasionally push/pull up to 15 lbs.

  • Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. at floor, knee, waist, and chest levels

  • Constant use of hearing and vision, distinguish between shades of color, and use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity
