Who is Genesee Lake School?
Genesee Lake School is a private, employee owned residential and day school for students, ages 6-21, who are diagnosed with Neurodevelopmental Disorders and/or Complex Developmental Trauma Disorders. Our Third Shift Direct Support Professionals supervise our students in a dorm setting during night-time hours. This specific opening will primarily work with out female students but may support male groups as needed. Some personal cares assistance may be required. Shifts will begin at 10-11pm and will conclude between 6am-9am. This position will also involve working a holiday and weekend (2 on; 1 off) rotation.
Monitor students during the night-time hours
Address needs of students who may awaken in the night
Personal cares assistance if needed
Work proactively to build relationships and be a positive role model
Assist students with daily living skills and self-care management
May involve medication administration
At least 21 years old
High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's in Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
Valid WI driver's license with an acceptable driving record meeting company standards
Tolerance, understanding, and patience
Must be available for approximately one month of training that occurs during 1st and 2nd shift hours prior to settling into a consistent 3rd shift schedule
