The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a software engineer to become a part of our team. Our team implements an iterative software development methodology, providing solutions to our customer at regular intervals deployed to secured cloud environments. Candidates should possess experience as a software engineer working on complex multi-disciplinary systems such as cloud, distributed or enterprise software.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science or engineering field
5+ years of experience in software, data, or cloud systems (3+ with MS degree)
Experience developing applications for one or more cloud providers with an emphasis on cloud native solutions (AWS GovCloud preferred)
Applied understanding of Containerization, Virtualization and Networking
Experience developing and deploying one or more cloud applications
Understanding of software design patterns and cloud architecture
Understanding of the application of DevSecOps principles to development
Experience with databases and cloud data storage
Ability to develop APIs and use 3rd Party APIs
Understanding of security best practices
Must be able to work effectively independently, as part of a team, and work with partners
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
US citizenship required along with the ability to obtain and hold a U.S. Government security clearance
Some travel may be required
Desired Skills:
Expertise with data lakes, data warehouse and big data tools and strategies
Experience with the AWS tech stack
Cloud infrastructure or platform engineering experience
Database, big data, data analytics or other data science experience
Have a current U.S. Government security clearance
