Major Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the accurate, timely distribution of financial information in accordance with regulatory, statutory, debt covenant, and internal guidelines.

  • Provide coverage, stabilization and progression of the business office department during times of vacancies and on-boarding of newly hired leaders.

  • Conduct an assessment of business office systems/processes in place at the care centers they are supporting to ensure compliance with company, state, and Federal regulatory practices.

  • Leads management staff and consultants in developing and working from a business plan that focuses on all aspects of business office operations, including setting priorities and job assignments. Monitors each department's activities, communicates policies, evaluates performance, provides feedback, and assists, observes, coaches and disciplines as needed.

  • Conduct a leadership evaluation of the care center department heads to determine and create a plan to upgrade and or develop talent where identified.

  • Develop A/R action plans and systems to improve billing and collection functions in accordance with regulations and policies for an assigned group of long term care centers.

  • Monitor and direct all patient accounts receivable functions, including billing, collections, resident trust and Medicaid pending conversions.

  • Monitor and develop action plans to reduce bad debt.

  • Coordinate and prepare financial information for the external auditors and the annual audited financial report.

  • Monitor preparation of weekly and monthly patient trust reconciliations, including quarterly audits to ensure compliance with regulations and policies.

  • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and develop action plans to improve collection of aged accounts.

  • Monitor and approve write offs and contractual adjustment requests.

  • Monitor and ensure A/R clearing accounts are maintained on a timely basis.

  • Schedule regular meetings with center leadership and site visits to provide supervision, ensure communication, and to monitor facility operations.

  • Provide innovative, responsible healthcare with the creation and implementation of new ideas and concepts that continually improve systems and processes to achieve superior results as well as the development of a successful management team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance preferred.

  • Must possess three (3) years' experience in Skilled Nursing Facility billing/collecting and patient trust accounting.

  • Must possess two (2) years management experience in a health care business office setting.

  • Point Click Care (PCC) billing system experience preferred.

  • National Data Care Resident Funds Management System (RFMS) experience preferred.

  • Ability to travel extensively including overnight stays and for extended periods of time.

  • You must be qualified, compassionate, and dedicated to a job well done.
