Tioga Downs is hiring Part-time Lifeguards for the 2024 Summer Season (May - September)!!
Under general supervision, the Lifeguard ensures the safety of patrons of an aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides excellent guest service to both internal and external guests.
Actively supports the company culture of creating a fun and entertaining experience for internal and external guests.
Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency.
Administer first aid as required.
Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times and maintains a high standard of customer service.
Handle discipline situations with courtesy and fairness.
Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
Enforces rules and regulations designated by the company.
All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED required.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to use written and oral communication skills; observe and interpret people and situations.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
CPR Certified
Current certification as Lifeguard by a recognized source of training (May be able to obtain certification after hire)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the Employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The Employee is also regularly required to stand, walk, sit, swim and use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The Employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Associate will regularly interact with children.
Pools are open during races and events, on weekends, and holidays. Availability at these times is necessary for this position.
