Description

Park Inc is looking for a safety conscious crossing guard supervisor in Newville, PA.   This is a part time job working approximately 3 hours per day on all days school is in session (August - June).  

Crossing Guards are responsible for the safe movement of children to and from school when crossing public roadways and intersections by observing gaps in the traffic and leading the children safety across the roadway or intersection.  

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain a strong working relationship with the designated site point of contact

  • Train employees in the various operations of the job site, including customer service and safety

  • Enforce company policies and procedures

  • Perform duties as necessary to operate a safe and efficient working environment

  • Manage staff and employee performance including hiring, retention, training, coaching and counseling, safety, etc.

  • Maintain integrity of company equipment

  • Conduct routine audits and "mystery shop" assessments throughout designated assigned areas

  • Forecast staffing needs and schedule accordingly

  • Ensure schedule is properly communicated

  • Review daily/weekly/monthly reports including timekeeping reports

  • Ensure schedule gaps are filled and shifts are full

  • Review processes for efficiency and opportunities for improvement

  • Handle onsite communications with customers, client and management as needed

  • Ensure compliance of established policies and procedures for both the client and the company

Qualifications

  • Experience managing a workforce.

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem solving skills.

  • Excellent customer service skills with client focus, and an ability to work with all staff levels.

  • Excellent interpersonal and excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Experience in dealing with personnel issues including hiring, firing, training and disciplinary action.

  • Must be detailed oriented and able to make sound decisions withing assigned deadlines.

  • Ability to work outdoors with exposure to extreme weather conditions.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

  • Willingness to work all shifts, all days, as needed.
