JPMorgan Chase Strategy Associate in New York, New York

The Strategic Engagement team within the Chief Data and Analytics Office (CDAO) at JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPMC) is seeking a talented candidate to join a small and growing team responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and bringing to life AI use cases across all lines of business (LOBs) and corporate functions. The successful candidate will have a strategic mindset and an ability to partner and build relationships with an interdisciplinary group of stakeholders across the business, technology, risk management and the data science community.

As an Associate- Strategy within the Line of Business(LOB) Strategic Engagement team, you will be responsible for developing insights and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to explore various Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) use cases, define the value proposition and business impacts, and support execution and implementation to appropriately deploy the resulting products and solutions. while driving execution of JPMC's top AI/ML priorities and strategic initiatives. In this role, candidates will gain expertise across AI/ML use cases, and the workings of a variety of functions and businesses, while honing problem solving, business case modeling, communications and leadership skills in an environment of active mentorship and coaching.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive execution of the firm's top AI/ML priorities and strategic initiatives by participating on project teams and partnering with / providing leverage to senior stakeholders

  • Conduct competitor and industry research through both public and non-public sources to identify market trends & developments, including new AI capabilities and frameworks being introduced

  • Coordinate strategic engagement with internal LOBs to shape their AI strategy

  • Identify and prioritize problems that may benefit from the new developments in AI technologies and structure and build quantitative, qualitative, and conceptual analyses, identifying implications and key insights to drive recommendations on solving the prioritized problems

  • Develop and syndicate business cases for the prioritized initiatives, including the scope of work, target state solutions, staffing and timelines, performing analysis of operational / financial data as needed

  • Collaborate with team members across LOBs and corporate functions, incl. working closely with Product and Technology teams on prioritization of deliverables from a business and tech perspective

  • Exercise sound judgment, anticipate bottlenecks, evaluate and mitigate potential risks, escalate effectively, make trade-offs and balance business needs versus technical constraints to drive the execution of strategic initiatives

  • Participate in and conduct internal, external and stakeholder interviews with SMEs and stakeholders

  • Engage in working groups, problem solving and brainstorming sessions that prepare analysis to support leadership decision making

  • Contribute to executive communication materials for senior management and present project analyses and recommendations to senior executives

  • Develop relationships with key AI/ML related functions firmwide, establishing a network and an understanding of the stakeholders engaged in responsible AI/ML development practices and perform ad-hoc product and operational analysis to identify opportunities related to AI/ML adoption, impact, efficiencies etc.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in product or strategy role within a complex and dynamic environment with Bachelor's degree is a must.

  • Experience with analytical techniques and tools

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills - and ability to interact with colleagues at all levels in a peer-like way, and achieve goals without direct control over resources

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly storyboard using tools like PowerPoint, etc. with experience designing and delivering target Operating models and processes

  • Proficiency to identify issues and resolve them with a sense of urgency with great team player.

  • Ability to define and drive a delivery roadmap inclusive of milestone deliveries and the associated status reporting

  • Must be flexible and able to deal with multiple, changing priorities independently with minimal supervision and have the ability to inspire collaboration among teams composed of both technical and non-technical members, including working with multiple functions across regions and time differences

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Strategy experience with demonstrated strategic and commercial mindset, analytical abilities, and deep intellectual curiosity, and strong end-to-end generalist problem solving skills, e.g., Defining and deconstructing problems; prioritizing issues, analysis, and team capacity; structuring and building quantitative and qualitative/conceptual analyses; applying strong business judgment to surface implications and practical, high impact options; analyzing operational and financial data; performing competitor/industry research leveraging both public and non-public sources; participating in and independently conducting internal and external interviews; working collaboratively with team members across LOBs and staff areas; identifying implications and "so whats" of data and analysis with the team

  • Product experience with user research, problem identification, value proposition and solution design, and collaboration with technology partners for enablement / deployment

  • Familiarity with LLMs, AI/ML and/ or technology management processes, and/or experience working with innovative technologies, such as AI, Cloud services and Digital Products

  • Coding experience with Python

  • Degree in STEM field preferred
