The Creators organization at Amazon is looking for talented Software Development Engineers with a passion experience in AI and ML to help us re-imagine social shopping! We own the Amazon Associates and Amazon Influencer programs, and our mission is to become the Earth’s most desired destination for commerce creators across the world, and their content. We ensure a cohesive experience for all creators, expand their opportunities to earn through innovation, and launch experiences that reinforce their feeling of achievement. Our team strives to make Amazon the simplest and best place for creators to earn by providing AI and ML tools that enhance their ability to generate compelling content, simplify the content placement process, maximize content earning power, and make our application their primary commerce platform.

Keeping up with the growth of the Amazon Associates program requires that growth we continually innovate, to ensure that creators view Amazon as the primary place to grow and develop their ecommerce business. We are launching new products, processes, and features to improve and streamline creator workflows. We are seeking experienced, results-oriented software developers who can use AI and ML to design and implement scalable solutions for business problems. As a technical leader for your space, you'll reimagine the customer experience accelerated by ML, then design, develop, and deliver it to our customers.

Key job responsibilities

• You will be expected to lead cross-team development efforts to provide the technical vision and strategy for the future of AI/ML solutions for Amazon Associates worldwide, balancing short and long-term technology investments.

• You will work closely with PMs, scientists, and DEs to build and run experiments that incentivize creators to utilize the platform to its fullest extent.

• You will work on projects that require innovative and creative thinking, deep technical problem solving, and mentor other engineers, improving their skills and ability to get things done.

• You’ll have ownership, not just responsibility; and you’ll contribute to all aspects of the software lifecycle: design, experimentation, implementation and testing. The ideal candidate for our team is an AI/ML expert, a thinker and a doer: someone who loves sophisticated algorithms and mathematical precision, but at the same time enjoys implementing real systems, and is motivated by the prospect of spectacular business returns.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
