Reporting to the Department Administrator-CFO in Neurology, this position supports the operations in Neurology, Sergiesvky and Taub and provides superior customer service to internal and external clients. In this role you will work with all levels of staff, faculty and leadership throughout our department. In addition to providing support for day to day operations, you will work on individual projects for the department. You will utilize your expertise in data management and analysis to prepare dashboards for decision making meetings you will assist in identifying opportunities for efficiency and fiscal savings, and help implement solutions.

Job responsibilities will include:


Working with the Clinical Practice Group analyze productivity reports. Assess schedule utilization identify opportunities for clinical efficiencies. As new sites are developed for our clinical practice work with the managers to onboard the practices. Submit and follow up on site specific credentialing documents. Work on marketing services with internal stakeholders. Assist in preparing the department for Epic implementation.


Collect and analyze data for our research reporting to insure proper collection of ICR. Analyze uses of ICR to cover research operations of PIs and their operations. Working with the research finance group identify proactively shortage in funding for particular expenses. Working with research staff and business office escalate needs as the projects continue to grow.


Working with the FPO Operations team and the CUMC, FPO and NYP facilities team aim to provide smooth, timely and professional services for our patients and operations. Building & maintaining strong relationships with CUMC and NYP Facilities, CU FPO, Telecommunications at NYP and CU, and outside vendors. Compiling issues from practice managers, PIs and faculty that need addressing. Logging issues and actions taken.

Epic Implementation

As a project team member work on Neurology specific needs for Epic buildout and implementation. Meet with department subject matter experts in the areas of Revenue Cycle Management, Access and Scheduling, and IT to compile and analyze build needs. Communicate with FPO counterparts as needed and report back to department leadership key items needing addressing. Through this process become a department resource on all Epic matters.

Administrative and Clerical

Provide support for the DA and calendar management which will be tied to many of these same activities.

Performing other projects and duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant

Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three (3) years of related experience.

The successful incumbent will be computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel). The Operations Analyst must be able to handle multiple tasks in a timely fashion and be able to work independently. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required for this position. S/He must be able to act with discretion in receiving complex and confidential information. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work with all levels of faculty and staff are essential.

Special Instructions

Preferred Qualifications

Master in Public Health or related fields. Prior experience working in an academic institution. A working knowledge and experience with Columbia University applications is preferred.
