Description

The Amazon.com Health and Personal Care team is seeking a proven leader with experience in strategy, negotiation, team development, and execution to lead the Nutrition and Wellness business. As the Manager of the Nutrition and Wellness category, you will own the P&L and will be responsible for developing a high performing team of Vendor Managers who report into you. You will develop and execute strategies to drive profitable growth, build strong partnerships with leading brands, and lead initiatives to improve the customer experience. We are looking for a thought leader who will drive us towards realizing our vision of being the most trusted, accessible, and affordable health and wellness destination, supporting and empowering every customer at every stage of their health journey.

The Nutrition and Wellness business combines both scale and growth as one of the largest categories on Amazon.com. It is highly dynamic, driven by evolving consumer preferences on how to become healthier, combined with brand and retailer innovations on how to meet those needs. The leader of this business will work regularly with senior management including C-level executives from numerous Vendors, partners, and internal teams. To deliver results, the Manager of Vendor Management (MVM), will develop a team that is responsible for owning Vendor relationships, negotiating contracts and pricing, expanding product selection, and influencing partner teams (e.g. tech, finance, marketing, supply chain, advertising, compliance, etc.) to build and deliver on operating plans. Strong oral and written communication skills, adept problem-solving, possessing quantitative and financial acumen, ability to manage competing priorities, and flexing strategic, analytical, creative, and pragmatic thinking are keys to success. The right candidate will be able to discern when to move quickly and when to dive deep, how to make high-judgment decisions when goals come into tension, and how to deliver long-term, scalable results by focusing on creating customer value that unlocks profitable growth. The MVM will be focused on building operating plans that accelerate customer acquisition, drive re-order through programs like Subscribe and Save, and guide customers in their health journey through better health education and specialized experiences.

As a leader on the Health & Personal Care category team, you will establish long-range strategic plans for your business, influence the broader US Consumables Retail strategy, and connect this back to Amazon S-Team objectives. You will possess direct knowledge of all retail functions within the business and be capable of acting as a proxy for Health & Personal Care leadership in high-level meetings. This role will be reporting to the Head of Vendor Management for Health & Wellness, Ryan Thompson.
