Description/Job Summary

The IT Financial Analyst role will be expected to work independently with various stakeholders across IT to provide financial support. This person must be able to create and streamline processes to maximize efficiency, work with key stakeholders to understand their impact on monthly forecasts and annual budget, and be able to identify areas of potential efficiencies in technology spend. The IT Financial analyst will be responsible for the oversight of the IT Team financial budgeting, forecasting, purchase requisitions and invoice management processes.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Responsible for managing financial budgeting, forecasting, purchasing requisitions and invoice management for the IT department

  • Participate in the development and maintenance of annual departmental budgets, recurring forecasts, and long-range plans

  • Create repeatable, scalable processes for IT financial processes

  • Prepare the monthly / quarterly variance analysis (actual vs plan) and discuss risks and actions plans as needed

  • Oversee the quote approval, PO submittal and tracking of delivery for all IT orders

  • Oversee the invoicing process from receipt of invoice matching the PO's / contracts, ensuring correct coding and ensuring that it is submitted for processing

  • Maintain detailed schedules for each department of specific types of budgeted expenses, and add and remove as necessary per contract renewals and/or terminations of contracts

  • Review lease agreements to ensure they are accurate and meet the different terms of the company and lessee

  • Provide insights on strategic planning, new initiatives and day to day operations regarding financial health

  • Analyze complex financial information to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to stakeholders

  • Continuous enhancement of reporting, analysis & KPI's based on stakeholder feedback

Required Skills

  • Candidate must be a self-starter and have excellent analytical, communication and quantitative skills

  • Strong financial analysis and quantitative skills; close attention to detail and fact checking

  • Proficiency in Excel & PowerPoint

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

  • IT leasing agreement experience required

Required Experience

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience financial planning / invoice management in the technology space

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Education

  • PMP, Agile or Scrum certification a plus

Salary Information

NY only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $110k to $120k at the time of posting.

The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is non-exempt meaning it is overtime pay eligible.
