Fedcap Community Coach in New York, New York
Position Summary:
Responsible for conducting outreach and serving as liaisons and motivators by building community knowledge of Jobs-Plus program; attending community events and NYCHA resident meetings as representatives of the program; promoting engagement in program and gathering referrals.
Essential Job Functions:
Ensures Jobs-Plus positive community presence-building through one-on-one meetings with residents.
Assists the Career Development Specialists and Assistant Director in the development and building of a network of community partnerships.
Performs outreach activities within the service area as assigned by the Assistant Director.
Serves as a liaison between residents/members and the Jobs-Plus program staff.
Assists with planning and organizing community workshops and fundraising events.
Updates and maintains geographic referral lists in FedcapCARES.
Assists members in navigating intake processes with external providers.
Facilitates communication with community partners.

Education and Experience :
A High School Diploma from an accredited institution or equivalent experience; some post-secondary training preferred.
Verified resident of housing developments in service area. Enrolled in JP or will be enrolled in JP upon hire.
A minimum of 2 years of work experience; work experience with community agencies and/or service providers preferred.
Experience in maintaining social media presence.
Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and be sensitive to maintaining confidentiality.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Experience in working with public assistance recipients, formerly incarcerated individuals and those affected by the challenges associated with poverty.
