Bloomsbury Publishing Academic Sales Data Analyst in New York, New York

Reporting to the US Academic Sales Director, the Academic Sales Data Analyst is crucial to the sales and publishing strategies across all divisions and provides clear analytics and commentary on the sales data. This role also indirectly reports to key sales executives, including but not limited to the MD of Group Sales and Marketing, the VP of US Trade Sales & Marketing.Responsibilities- Utilizing Cognos and other in-house systems, extract, clean, and organize data sets and reports for academic sales group - Maintaining and developing report suites that track sales in the US and globally- Investigating and analyzing sales data and processes to increase sales and business efficiencies - Setting up, managing, and streamlining the internal systems and processes for accurate sales reporting and analytics across the academic and professional business- Working with Sales Directors to ensure accurate monthly sales estimates for A&P budgets- Coordinating seasonal adoption information with inventory in advance of key ordering period to ensure accurate title stocking for potential higher education sales- Working with Sales Director to maximize and update data procedures with Amazon.com- Pull monthly commission reports for US rep groups - Birthday Sales Reports for the editorial group- Ad-hoc reports as needed by group sales management teams- Representing the Sales Department on key data-driven projectsRequirementsThe successful candidate will have: - A strong background in analytics, data collection and presentation.- The ability to analyze, model and interpret data with clear visualization.- An accurate, methodical approach to data with an attention to detail.- Problem-solving outlook and skill set.- Time management and planning to make sure deadlines are met. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- College degree, 2+ years working in sales or analysis- Proficiency in Excel, pivot tables and VLOOKUP necessary- Proficiency with Cognos, Bookscan and Amazon Vendor Central is a plusEqual Opportunity EmploymentBloomsbury Publishing USA is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
