Google Image Processing Machine Learning Engineer, Silicon in New Taipei City, Taiwan

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3 years of experience in silicon engineering (e.g., ISP/DPU design, imaging and Machine Learning (ML) feature development, or generative AI image/video editing development).

  • Experience in C/C++ or Python programming.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.

  • Experience in conventional imaging algorithms, ML-based features, generative AI, and accessing visual quality using objective metrics and subjective techniques.

  • Experience with ISP/DPU algorithms and ML feature development on SoC.

  • Experience with algorithms and silicon design trade-off analysis, with knowledge of the human visual system and color science.

Your team designs and builds the hardware, software and networking technologies that power all of Google's services. As a Hardware Engineer, you design and build the systems that are the heart of the world's largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing. Your work has the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our cutting-edge data centers affecting millions of Google users.

With your technical expertise, you lead projects in multiple areas of expertise (i.e., engineering domains or systems) within a data center facility, including construction and equipment installation/troubleshooting/debugging with vendors.

  • Research and develop image processing and machine learning algorithms for camera/display imaging and use cases.

  • Explore and identify technical direction for new imaging experiences and architecture.

  • Construct specifications of proposed algorithms.

  • Work with architects, research, image quality, and software teams to identify and develop new algorithms for hardware ISP/DPU.
