Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Director, Executive Communication. The position is based in New Brunswick, NJ on a hybrid schedule.

OVERVIEW

The Director, Global Legal Organization (GLO) and Executive Communications will serve as a communications lead and trusted advisor in support of the Executive Vice President, General Counsel, the Global Legal Organization and serve on a team of Executive Communicators that also support Global Corporate Affairs. Reporting to the Senior Director, Enterprise Executive Communications, this role will execute the General Counsel’s legal communication strategy, support GLO’s communications needs and partner across the Executive Communications team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide strategic communications counsel, support and execution for the Executive Vice President, General Counsel, including related to internal and external speaking engagements.

  • Collaborate with the GC and the GLO leadership team to develop, manage, and execute GLO communications that align with GLO priorities, and connect across the Enterprise to activate, as necessary.

  • Identify suitable external speaking engagements aligned with leadership and business priorities, and support speakers for impactful messaging and delivery.

  • Lead communications for the annual Heath for Humanity Report.

  • Work closely with other Executive Committee communicators to drive superior GLO internal and external communications strategies.

  • Directly oversee one team member and collaborate with additional Global Corporate Affairs colleagues throughout the Enterprise to drive best-in-class executive communications.

  • Lead a team through influence, leveraging internal, vendor, and dotted line resources effectively.

Qualifications

Required

  • A bachelor’s degree

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience supporting internal and external communications

  • General knowledge of and familiarity with the Legal function

  • Experience working with C-suite executives

  • Proven ability to lead executive communications

  • Success in leading both internal and external communication initiatives

  • The ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity

  • Previous or current experience working in a highly-matrixed environment

  • Must have strong leadership skills that can be leveraged to motivate individuals and teams to deliver strong results

  • Must be creative, innovative, and a strategic thinker

  • Broad external communications expertise

  • Proven ability to manage vendors and agencies

  • Must be a superb writer and editor with the ability to edit materials, develop clear and crisp media statements, and write speeches and presentations for executives.

  • This position is in New Brunswick, NJ.

  • Up to approximately 20% domestic and international travel may be required

Salary:

The base pay range for this position is $137,000 - $244,950 USD

Bonus:

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year

  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
