Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff CONTINGENCY SOURCING ANALYST in Naval Base, Virginia

Summary This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for directly working on all issues regarding roles, responsibilities, processes, planning guidance, and tools associated with identification, submission, and validation of forces, which are contingency sourced. Responsibilities As a CONTINGENCY SOURCING ANALYST at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Analyzes and provides contingency sourcing recommendations on submitted requirements in support of JS J35 mission to develop sourcing feasibility recommendations. Develops, staffs, and presents command level briefings in O-6, General Officer/Flag Officer (GO/FO), Senior Executive Service (SES), and Senior Staff forums (to include Tanks and the Global Force Management Board [GFMB]). Develops and prepares written and verbal GO/FO level briefings and other correspondence on current sourcing issues and provides time-sensitive information to the Director that directly supports senior leader decision-making. Serves as a member of a team of SMEs in the development of Global Force Management products and makes recommendations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Utilizing the National Defense Strategy, National Military Strategy and Global Campaign for recognizing global force management. Developing global force management products and operations processes for execution. Managing, analyzing, and providing defensible recommendations on contingency sourcing requirements, status, and courses of action to plan. Communicating orally, to include preparing, and presenting both information and advocacy briefings with senior level officials. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
