Microsoft Corporation Principal Product Manager in Multiple Locations, Costa Rica

The Office 365 Core Directory and Identity team is looking for a Principal Product Manager to help lead modernization of the directory and authentication spaces. The role will focus on bringing the future vision for these aeras while working with Entra ID and various workloads and apps across the whole Microsoft ecosystem of first-party partners.

Responsibilities

Key functions include:

  • Provide strategy, vision, product or technical white papers that must be presented to very senior stakeholders and executives. 

  • Drive modernization of Identity, authentication, and authorization platform across M365. Work with other Identity leaders and partner teams to build a compelling and secure platform story around these scenarios.

  • Imagine, design, and drive a rapid roadmap of improvements that guide the team towards new scenarios and next generation Identity experiences demanded by customers.

  • Solve and simplify complex problems in scale, availability, performance, security and cost areas, as the platform serves many apps at massive scale with tight SLA requirements.  

  • Work with partner teams to understand needs and translate them to well defined and prioritized scenarios & requirements and plans to resolve any issues.  Help build strong relationships with partners as they build on our platform. 

  • Define Objectives and Key results along with metrics (KPIs) and SLAs to measure success of our platform investments. Design monitoring capabilities and telemetry to support the SLA agreements with partners

Qualifications

*Required Qualifications to Include: *

  • 7+ years’ experience in Product Management (key emphasis) or Technical Product Management  

  • Experience in Identity, authentication, authorization platforms are preferred but not required 

  • Must be a highly driven individual, able to operate with less supervision, build plans, drive clarity in pursuing the outcomes we want 

  • Great writing skills and communication capabilities to senior leadership are a must have. 

  • Must have sound technical knowledge of security and cloud-based platforms & databases. Ability to easily grasp high cloud scale & distributed architectures. Must be able to go deep or broad as needed and work with senior architects and technical fellows. Hands-on experience in these areas via strategy paper, specs, blogs, operational experiences  

  • Track record of being a creative problem solver for technical or product issues. Has an eye to innovate and deliver platform capabilities that provide high impact. Deep focus on customers means delivering awesome and secure experiences & capabilities for our application developers. 

  • Outstanding collaboration and partnership skills. Ability to influence partners is key in helping build relationships with empathy and managing conflicts while pursuing the right outcomes for our customers & service.  

  • Leadership ability to lead groups & discussions across very senior architects and engineers. Adept in creating the right agendas, moving discussions forward and making solid progress towards the outcomes. Tracking hard problems end-end across partner teams. Experience working in leadership roles is preferred but not required. 

  • Learning new technologies, AI model and security protocols, incorporate plans and ideas to leverage them  

  • Experience working with enterprise customers, both technical and business, and at all levels
