Job Summary
Greets patients either in person or over the telephone, protecting privacy.
Performs the initial evaluation by obtaining medical history, patient concerns, performs examination tests and prepares equipment for physician as needed.
Assists with surgical procedures, administers topical medications or diagnostic drugs prescribed by the physician.
Maintains knowledge of diagnostic coding, monitoring the completion of charge slips are accurately completed by the physician.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
COA, COT or COMT certification required within one year of employment.
Minimum of training in ophthalmic diagnostic and treatment procedures, including basic ophthalmic workup, diagnostic equipment listed below and ophthalmic surgery experience preferred.
Work Schedule
Monday-Thursday, 7:30am-5:00pm, Friday: 8:00am-12:00pm Friday; 80 hours every 2 weeks
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$18.25 - $23.00
