ACCO Brands General Help (Contract) in Mississauga, Ontario

Job Summary

We are seeking keen and enthusiastic General Helpers to join our Mississauga, Ontario team on the AFTERNOON shift. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the General Helper works on the assembly line assisting the operators, who run machines that convert paper into school and office products. This is an approximately 6 month contract opportunity starting in January 2024.

Responsibilities

• Putting paper based products into cartons and onto pallets (skids)

• Performing product quality checks

• Placing labels onto product displays

• Lifting cartons and stacking them onto pallets (skids) as needed

• Using a pump truck to bring pallets (skids) over to work areas

• Performing general housekeeping duties to maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness

• Comfortable working in a manufacturing, assembly line environment (previous experience in a plant or industrial setting is considered an asset)

• Able to work well with others as well as with minimal supervision

• Good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, manual dexterity

Qualifications

• Able to work afternoon shift

• Able to read and write English

• High School diploma required; college, vocational or technical training considered an asset

• Must be comfortable doing repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads (up to 35 lbs) and standing for extended periods in a noisy environment (ear plugs will be provided)

• Aptitude testing may be administered to candidates to determine their suitability
