Accounting Supervisor - Onsite, Up to $110K/year + Benefits

Robert Half is seeking a dedicated Accounting Supervisor to join an esteemed Insurance company based in Minneapolis, MN. Ensuring adherence to quality control standards and performing operational, transactional, and technical accounting activities are vital in this role. This position offers competitive compensation of up to $110K annually with added benefits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee, lead and mentor the Surplus Lines Tax Team and Agency Bill Invoicing Team.

• Maintain and provide productivity KPIs and manage journal entries related to virtual office intercompany transactions.

• Process intercompany commission payable transactions and complete quarterly surplus lines tax reporting.

• Perform month-end close functions and reconcile balance sheet and other accounts.

• Ensure timely and accurate processing and filing of transactional support.

• Prepare documentation as per established controls and build efficient relationships with other departments.

• Promote teamwork and participate in educational opportunities for professional development.

• Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Knowledge:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Teams, Word, and Excel.

• 1+ years of supervisory experience and 3+ years of accounting experience.

Requirements • Proven experience in Accounting Functions within the financial services industry

• Demonstrable knowledge and application of Accrual Accounting

• Familiarity with Auditing processes and principles

• Experience with Balance Sheet Account management and reconciliation

• Understanding of Budget Processes and their implementation

• Proven ability in Supervising a team of accountants or finance professionals

• Experience in KPI Reporting and interpretation

• Proficiency in preparing and managing Journal Entries

• Experience in handling Month End Close processes

• Skills in Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Demonstrable ability in Process Improvement within accounting or financial procedures

• Proven capabilities in implementing new processes within the accounting or finance department.
