We are looking for someone to fill our Conversions Supervisor position which is located at Target Center in Minneapolis, MN. Home of the MN Timberwolves and MN Lynx.

Job Summary

This position assists the Manager Operations by actively implementing strategies for the conversion/changeover crew, as well as supervise conversion staff and monitor changeovers between events to ensure efficiency. These events include concerts, basketball games, special events and family shows.

Essential DutiesOther duties may be assigned.

  • Supervise and assist with all aspects of operations including scheduling staff, setups and conversions; enforcing safety, productivity, and enforcing policies and procedures; and implementing building and department policies, while maintaining superior customer service to vendors, guests, and internal staff.

  • Supervise operations staff, including: training employees; planning, assigning and managing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee complaints and resolving problems. Hire and discharge employees when appropriate, under the direction of the operations manager.

  • Assign tasks to staff and assist as needed for daily maintenance and upkeep of department equipment such as risers, basketball floor and hoops, dressing room furniture, and miscellaneous other general duties.

Required Qualifications

  1. A minimum education level of: High School Diploma or its equivalency

  2. A minimum of 3 years of related work experience

  3. Availability to work flexible hours required. Daytime availability preferred; third shift availability required.

  4. Knowledge of tools, materials, and equipment used in building operations (forklift, power tools, basic tools, etc.)

  5. Demonstrated knowledge of general operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services, and/or conversion requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility.

  6. Possess (or can easily obtain) licenses, certifications or training required by local, state or national authorities for the operation of the equipment found in the facility – particularly, a forklift.

  7. Knowledge of current First Aid, OSHA and facility safety procedures.

  8. Ability to remain in a stationary position or move about the venue for extended periods during a shift.

  9. Ability to constantly position self to complete installations over, under and through.

  10. Ability to frequently ascend/descend ladders or stairs.

  11. Ability to move materials and equipment up to 75 lbs.

  12. Ability to operate machinery such as small hand and power tools.
