We are currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager for our Memphis, TN Location.

As a CI Manager, you will manage the development and implementation of strategic initiatives with lean methodology to meet performance, schedule, quality, cost, and budget objectives. Partner with value stream Managers and Site Directors toward process improvements delivering significant and impactful cross-functional change across the organization. Act as a key driver for change, influencing others to learn, understand, and adopt Lean Methodology and key transformation.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan, lead, and support operational objectives, productivity, and continuous improvement plans, including implementation, maintaining, and analyzing various production performance metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Lead engagement and collaboration efforts across cross-functional teams, including engineering, group managers, customers, and other departments as needed.

  • Maintain and ensure compliance with all company and regulatory policies and procedures.

  • Follow processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for solving problems.

  • Perform a technical analysis of new and established processes and recommend improvements including, through cycle time reduction, tooling improvements, time studies, process observation, waste reduction, line balancing, cost justification, etc.

  • Plan and support data analytics and strategies to define effective methods and processes to utilize available capacity on the site and align with established strategic direction in support of business needs.

  • Maintains stable workflow processes and oversees production performance metrics and implements changes to receive optimal results.

  • Engages with Manufacturing Resource Planning teams and establishes consumption-based replenishment systems to ensure efficient material flow and inventory reduction.

  • Owns Lean Awareness Training Program across the site, establishing a minimum 80% training requirement and provides hands-on leadership to the site

  • Excels in RCA, A3, and lean methodology tools to solve complex problems across the organization.

  • Accountable for implementing Lean Six Sigma initiatives quarterly and ensuring a disciplined, data-driven approach for improving wing-to-wing operational performance.

  • Prioritizes strategic initiatives with ROI and business impact, maintaining ownership from start to completion.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Capabilities

  • Promote safety as the most important value in the organization by adhering to and enforcing all safety policies and procedures

  • Lead negotiations regarding freight contracts

  • Investigate causes of misdirected shipments, damages, shortages, or overcharges in freight cost

  • Monitor transaction activity and reports from sources such as contracts, purchase orders, invoices, requisitions, and accounting reports ensuring all data is entered to maintain accurate inventory, purchasing, and shipping records

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent experience

  • Preferred experience with SAP and Cognos

  • Preferred Six Sigma green belt certification

  • Preferred experience using Hoshin Kanri methodology and implementation
