Leonardo DRS Land Electronics (DLE) has locations in Melbourne, FL and Huntsville, AL. DLE is a leading designer, manufacturer and integrator of highly engineered, technically advanced defense electronics and systems for U.S. and allied international military and intelligence agency applications. *Position Summary *
Duties and Responsibilities
The Business Development Manager will manage and conduct the evaluation and implementation of new initiatives and business opportunities for the Company under the direction of a senior business development leader and line of business leader. As a representative of DRS, will develop and maintain sound business relationships with government and prime contractor customers in order to secure initial contract and maintain long term relationships in business areas consistent with the core competencies and strategic vision of the Company; maintain daily communications with executive leadership of customer opportunities, needs, and problems; develop mid-long range strategies, market analysis, and line of business plans that leverage Company technologies and engineering expertise to service a growing user base for our equipment; maintain timely activity reports and records consistent with Company procedures and interface with and provide support to the ongoing program operations. As a leader of product capture for business, aggressively pursue opportunities consistent with the campaign initiatives and participate directly in the definition of new product requirements in support of product modification or new product development activities. Will be responsible for and maintain the new business/booking plan forecast and actual performance. Will represent the Director of Business Development for the assigned line of business as required.
A BS degree in Marketing or Engineering (or related technical discipline) with 10+ years experience required. Master's degree is preferred. An in depth knowledge of automatic test equipment, vehicle electronics, embedded diagnostics, vehicle health management combat platforms and/or C4I applications, technology, products and solutions for vehicle and platforms solutions is a must. Experience in capturing business and proposal management is required. Must have a strong understanding of the DoD acquisition process. Must have strong interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation communication skills. Planning, organizing, time management and project management are required qualifications for this position. A knowledge of Company products, their markets and technology is preferred. Must be proficient with MS Office applications and have strong analytical and financial skills. The ability to obtain a security clearance is required.
