BAE Systems Deputy SAR/MTI SME in McLean, Virginia

Job Description

BAE Systems is looking for a Deputy Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR)/Moving Target Indicator (MTI) Subject Matter Expert (SME) who is interested in joining a team of professionals providing direct intelligence support to the Global War on Terror. Successful candidates will be part of a high-profile SAR/MTI team embedded in a multi-intelligence fusion watch floor environment training employees on tactical SAR/MTI collection, troubleshooting sensor issues, and ensuring 24/7 on-demand SAR/MTI capability. The Deputy SAR/MTI SME will teach the application of SAR/MTI techniques, procedures, and sensors used to produce SAR/MTI digital and hardcopy FMV intelligence products. They will aid the SAR SME in identifying innovative SAR/MTI solutions, fielding new radar capabilities and software, and instruction for newly fielded systems. They will assist in identifying operational SAR/MTI issues, troubleshooting, and recommending solutions.

The Deputy SAR/MTI SME is expected to have strong knowledge of radar theory and to be able to assist in its instruction as well as exploitation and collection practices as it relates to the counter-terrorism mission set. The Deputy SAR/MTI SME must possess at least one year of experience as an FMV analyst in MACSS-IDIQ TO3 to provide students with a working knowledge of how FMV, SAR, and MTI data is fused on the operations floor. They must additionally possess at least two years of tactical SAR/MTI operations experience or two years of experience as an Imagery Analyst. This position requires the ability to obtain an expanded scope polygraph.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

-6 total years of intel-related experience; a relevant bachelor's degree can count for 4 years, and a Master's for an additional two years

  • 12 months of experience as an FMV analyst in MACSS-IDIQ TO3

  • Advanced knowledge of multiple tactical SAR/MTI sensors

-Attended a basic Intel course

  • Ability to prepare and present briefings with creation/use of visual displays

  • Ability to work rapidly in a high-tempo, high-stress environment that requires multi-tasking to meet critical deadlines set by program leadership

-Excellent oral and written communication skills

-Ability to compile, research, interpret, analyze, and disseminate intelligence

-Superior knowledge of the Intel collection process

-Working knowledge of MOVINT Client, SOCCET GXP, and RemoteView or comparable ELT software

  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal oversight

-Ability to obtain an expanded scope polygraph

  • If currently in a program management role (e.g. TL, TM, AOR Ops Lead), must have held the role for no less than six months to be eligible

  • If currently in a Silver Team position (e.g. DTO, STC, HLV, SAR, Research), must have held the role for no less than 12 months to be eligible

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Previous experience as an instructor or trainer for small-to-medium sized groups (up to 15 people)

  • Detailed knowledge of IC, DoD, Federal, and Commercial imagery systems

  • Deployed experience as a tactical SAR/MTI analyst

  • Experience briefing senior leaders (generals, division chiefs, executives, etc.)

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $75570 - $128480
